Facebook has come with latest thing which takes us one step closer to
resembling virtual reality.
As per the announced on Wednesday
by the Melon Park, Calif-based social network, News Feed now support 360-degree
videos on the Web and Android. From coming months this feature can be found in
iOS also. Facebook got joint venture with Oculus, the virtual reality, headset
maker it purchased for $2 billion last year, to buy that technology to
Facebook.
360-degree
videos allow us most amazing experience that traditional videos. Now it seems
Facebook is serious about advancing their video technology among its apps. As
per the echoes comments in July by the social network’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg, “immersive
3-D content is the next thing after video”. It has been mentioned before also
that Facebook is coming with some of video feature in it, but with demoed its
360-degree video “Teleportation” app at this year’s.

videos since March, and Google has produced a string of slick animated and
live action shorts in 360 degrees, including one
directed by Fast and Furious legend Justin Lin.

with release of 360-degree video on Facebook has made possible for mobile user
to view the content from different angles and on Web user can do that using
their mouse and dragging the scene they want to see.
“On the
phone especially, slowly turning around and tilting your device up and down to
watch a scene as it’s playing is a really cool experience that takes you
somewhere else,” Facebook’s chief product officer Chris Cox said in a Facebook post. “It’s the kind of thing that you run
over to show someone else the moment you first see it.”
